I have 2 separate plex servers in my house and one of those has 1 music but the other one has 2 separate audio libraries (one being just for audiobooks), so I presumed I covered most of the combinations.

  • For a given server I connect to it locally (on the local network rather than the cloud) and use the ‘unofficial’ plex API to query the list of ‘audio libraries’ and make a list of these for the UI.
  • Loop around those trying to determine which are on the same network (though I was originally thinking it would be cool to remotely play music from a different plex server location).
  • Query using the Plex Token the PlexCloud for a list of registered servers.
  • I need to check but I think I basically do the follows: Plex has various options both a local, cloud and potentially a remote plugin.
